All three of these lakes offer anglers a good shot at pan-size yearling rainbows with a few husky carryovers mixed in for good measure. But Ell Lake has different regulations and even a different open season from the other two, so anglers headed for these three neighboring lakes in the Aeneas Valley need to remember which lake they're fishing and act accordingly.
Ell Lake is the only one of the three that remains open to fishing past the end of September, closing October 31. But angling regulations on Ell Lake are also more restrictive, with selective fishery rules now in effect. That means you can't use bait, and all lures must have single, barbless hooks. Ell also has a one-fish daily limit, while the other two have standard, five-trout limits.
