The Pond Hopper guide service was started to instruct and teach others about this wonderful outdoor activity and also to achieve true appreciation of New Jersey outdoors. Whether you have little or no experience with lake fishing and kayaking, your guide at the Pond Hopper will instruct you on paddling, casting, and other necessary techniques. They make you feel that kayaking has been your hobby for years.
The company advocates CPR (catch photo and release). Smallmouth and largemouth bass are the main targets while out fishing however, Pickerel, Crappies, and Bluegills are also present in these waters and you can catch them as well. The company supports using light spinning tackle with 8 lb test line.

General Information
I offer guided kayak fishing trips into some of New Jersey‘s most picturesque small lakes and ponds. All equipment is supplied for you, you will only need to show up and have a valid NJ fishing license.
You will be fishing from one of my sit on top kayaks. They are extremely stable and very comfortable to fish from. I will take you to the spots where I catch fish consistently and teach you the techniques that I use so you can become a more successfull angler.
If you have an interest in learning about kayak fishing or just fresh water fishing in general, a guided trip with The Pond Hopper will cut your learning curve in half.
I can accommodate from 1 to 4 anglers. I do not combine fishing trips with other parties. Your trip is your trip, come by yourself or bring a friend.
I have you using all of the same equipment I personally use, such as St Croix and Abu Garcia Rods and reels. Ocean Kayaks and Hobie Kayaks, fishing PFD’s and lightweight paddles.

All Trips are morning trips starting in April and running into the Fall. I do weekend and weekday trips. It is suggested that you book early for a weekend trip.

Each customer is responsible for there own transportation to and from the lake or river we fish.
