14-Year-Old’s 29-Inch Boundary Waters Walleye

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune lead off with this in their Trophy Tails, and for good reason.

Maeve Andrews, 14, was on a canoe trip with her family at the Canadian Boundary Waters when a 29-inch walleye hit her orange spinner. Andrews got the fish to the boat, took some photos, and then waded into the waters to properly release the walleye.

Andrews isn’t the only young fisherwoman with a big walleye in the Trophy Tails. The column also features 7-year-old Mackenzie Beck’s 27-incher. –Brian McClintock
