Record-Sized Tiger Trout Netted in Utah’s Scofield Reservoir

Record-Sized Tiger Trout Netted in Utah's Scofield Reservoir by GoFISHn TeamScofield Reservoir is a fishery under threat of a chub invasion, but that doesn't mean that there aren't trophy trout in this once-great fishery.
Salt Lake Tribune's Brett Prettyman is reporting that at a recent gill netting survey, Department of Wildlife Resources pulled up a tiger trout that would break the current state record by more than 2 pounds. The more colorful one in this picture was no slouch either, weight 8 pounds.

The DWR officials say they still need to figure out the chub limit, but that slot limits are helping the reservoir trout grow much bigger.

Hopefully someone will land this trout, and break that record. –Brian McClintock
