Is this a New Rhode Island State-Record Bullhead?

Is this a New Rhode Island State-Record Bullhead? by GoFISHn TeamDave Pickering, an outdoor writer in Rhode Island, was understandably excited when he caught this fish, what he thought at the time was a state-record brown bullhead at 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

Even the tackle shop that weighed it certified it as a brown bullhead.

After weighing it at the Big Bear tackle Shop in Harmony, he was even able to release the fish alive.

Unfortunately, according to Dave's blog, the state biologists determined it was either a white or channel catfish, and not a state record. While Pickering was a little disappointed, it's definitely a great catch. – Rick Bach
