On New Year's Eve, tons of dead herring showed up on a Norwegian beach. Three days later, no one knows where they went.
The herring were so thick that you couldn't walk without stepping on them.
But scientists aren't necessarily concerned as to where the herring went, they're trying to figure out how they ended up on the beach in the first place.
According to CNN, the tide most likely took the dead fish back out to see, but they're not sure if it was predators or something else that chased the fish onto the shore. Some are saying it's the first sign that the Mayans' prediction of the end of the world in 2012 is true.
I'll go with the predator theory. –Brian McClintock
