GoFISHn Weekend Fishing Report

GoFISHn members were hitting the water across the nation this weekend. With a lot of nice weather and great fishing conditions, there were a lot of great fishing reports posted. Largemouth were biting in Ohio, the Mexico coast saltwater action is popping, bull trout were being caught in Montana, and crappies were caught in the Midwest and southeast.

Luckily for these GoFISHn members, every one of their reports is entered in the $100 GoFISHn Season Kick-Off Report Contest.

Each one of these GoFISHn members will be receiving a GoFISHn hat, and a chance to win the $100 gift card to Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's at the end of the month.

Steelhead Biting in Pulaksi, NY–Ken Hubbard

Mark and I spent the day with Tony Gugino today.  We fished the Upper Fly
Zone of the Salmon River.  What a day!  We landed over 20 fish and lost
a few more.  Mostly steelhead
with two fresh browns and a rainbow mixed in.  Thanks Tony!

(GoFISHn Note: Ken fished with GoFISHn member Tony Gugino, owner of Tony's Salmon Country Guide Service. Check out Tony's report on fishing with Ken and his buddy Mark.)

Below
the Border Saltwater Fly-Fishing Report. Sierra Thick…Sardina
Missing?–Gary Graham

The spring thaw seems to be for real. Both sea
and weather temperatures
continued to climb in spite of the wind early in
the week. More spring-like sounds can be heard; birds chirping as they
flit about building their nests, as well as the familiar drone of
carpenter bees buzzing looking for some wood to make their home.

Largemouth in Slope Creek Lake, Ohio–Dan Powell

After breaking my finger at work, I had a slow start to fishing
tournaments this year. Prefished Slope Creek today. Always has been the
toughest lake I have ever fished. Hopefully I can do it again for the
tournament. Biggest fish of the day was 21 inches and felt like it was definitely over 4lbs but I didn't have a scale.

Big Florida Crappie–David Verjano

Was fishing
for largemouth bass when I hooked on this unsuspecting Crappie.
Having never caught a Crappie, I had no idea what kind of fish it was
until I checked my FWC handbook. Gave me a heck of a fight on my ultra
light rod with 6-lb
test line. Definitely a
catch to remember.
