It’s a fish of a lifetime, and it took Donna Commers a lifetime to land it.
Commers has fished most of her life, and has passed the passion on to her daughter, but failing health has kept her off the water recently. Thanks to Montana‘s Fishing Without Barriers Day, though, Commers and 60 other anglers with disabilities were on Flathead Lake on June 21 for a day fishing just for them.
The 37-inch, 15-pound laker that Commers landed was the biggest of her life, an she had some help from her daughter to haul the monster in. According to the report on Outdoor Hub, there was no skill involved, “Well, I guess I was lucky,” said Commers. –Brian McClintock
