Jimmy Kimmel is known for being a tad absurd (like announcing the Emmy nominations in his pajamas) and as one of the most popular television hosts. But when he’s not running Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC, he’s fly fishing.
Kimmel recently sat down with Vanity Fair about his vacation plans, which almost always revolve around hitting the trout waters out west, specifically Montana, Idaho, or “anywhere trout are hungry.” Kimmel, who will also be hosting the Emmy awards this year, seems to enjoy fishing for all the great reasons: getting away, avoiding emails, and supporting local fly shops.
“Whenever I fish, I stop at the local fly shop whether I need something or not. I always buy a hat with the shop’s logo on it,” says Kimmel. Evidently he alos stays with Huey Lewis when fishing in Montana, and the frontman for The News wakes them up with a duck call. –Brian McClintock
