All around the country, seemingly, dams are slowly coming down, and the fishing world is rejoicing.
Their removal paves the way for improved runs of trout and salmon. And we’re happy to report that the largest dam-removal project in California got OK’d recently.
The 106-foot tall San Clemente Dam on California‘s Carmel Riverwill be coming down, according to the Wall Street Journal. The dam has been in place since 1921 and officials are hoping its removal returns runs of wild steelhead to the river. – Rick Bach
