Teen Uses Swamp Men Move to Fight of a Gator but Loses His Arm

Kaleb “Fred” Langdale has lost his arm, but kept his life thanks to being an avid fan of “Swamp Men.”

Langdale was swimming with friends in in the Caloosahatchee River in Moore Haven in southwest Florida when an 11-foot alligator came after him, according to CNN. Langdale, using the moves he learned while watching the National Geographic show, stood his ground and grabbed the gator under its mouth preventing an attack.

According to his sister, he then tried to swim away, but the gator wasn’t done with him. It was then he used another tactic, sacrificing your arm to save your body. The 17-year-old basically ripped his arm away from the gator, and was able to get to safety, yelling for his friends: “Call the paramedics! My arm is gone!’”

The gator was captured and killed by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers, but the arm could not be reattached. –Brian McClintock
