LUCKY NO ONE WAS HURT
The boat’s driver, Herbert Israel, 23, of Greenport, was treated for minor injuries after the 2:40 a.m. crash and charged with boating while intoxicated.
His three passengers, all men in their early 20s, were not hurt.
When a regular tow wouldn’t cut it, a crane company arrived to the scene of an alleged drunken boating accident Saturday to remove the stranded vessel from atop the Greenport breakwater rocks.
It took Costello Marine Contracting workers about a half hour to get what appears to be a 26-foot cuddy cruiser back in the water, though once the crane was hooked to the boat the job took just minutes.
