The days are finally getting longer here in Western Wyoming and the temps are slowly warming. It's been a fairly dry winter, with our snow water equivalent (the amount of water being held in the snowpack), hovering around 60% of normal. We could use more moisture; hopefully it will come this spring. I made a quick escape last weekend to Dillon, Montana for a couple of days. I met up with good friend and This Is Fly magazine editor Brian Hodges for some fishing on Poindexter Slough. The weather was great (sunny and 41 degrees), and the streamer fishing was good. We were treated to a night at the world famous Five Rivers Lodge; Brian is a good friend of the proprietors Jay Burgin and Mary Jacques...check it out! www.fiveriverslodge.com
