From the TV gossip department at GoFishn, via The Burlington Free Press, comes news that Jeremy Wade, host of Animal Planet‘s “River Monsters,” is in the Burlington, Vermont area, possibly with a production crew. Free Press columnist Lawrence Pyne tracked him down for a brief interview, which you can read by clicking here. Wade is tight-lipped about why they are in Vermont, but the show’s director did reveal why they picked Lake Champlain in this excerpt:
Director Dominic Weston wouldn’t say, either. He did note that “River Monsters” had considered going to the Great Lakes, but chose Champlain instead for its manageable size and tremendous fish diversity.
“There’s more going on here and it’s more interesting,” Weston said. “People in the states don’t know as much about Lake Champlain, so there’s more you can tell them.”
We won’t know what they found till early 2013, when this episode is scheduled to air.
