Sure, you can go to the keys, and spend hours squinting and stalking bonefish and permit. There's no shame in that, and if you're lucky, you'll get your shot. But for rod-bending fun you can just hop a headboat out of Bud N' Mary's out of Islamorada and fill the cooler with hogfish, grey and yellowtail snapper. They're not grey ghosts, but they're delicious. If you were wondering why "doctorfish" are so named, it's because they're fins will slice you like a scalpel (photo 4). So carefully release one should you come across it. We might have been a little jealous of the anglers that caught grouper, but I'm sure throwing the fish back, which were out of season, was harder on them than it was us. If you do a Keys adventure, take your catch to Lazy Dayz and they'll fry it up for you. Cooking your own catch might be rewarding, but having it served to you, while being "Lazy," is fun too.
