FULL & HALF DAY TRIPS AVAILABLE |
Catching many nice striped bass located ‘on the border’ between the Upper and Middle Chesapeake Bay with Lee Haile and his son Eddie yesterday, 6/22/11. It was a great time.
We launched my boat at 1pm and fished until around 4:30pm. The current was slack when we started catching, and before we left it was ebbing at the swiftest during the day. It turned out to be a very productive catching trip as we caught fish throughout the entire day on light spinning tackle.
On one cast I hooked into a striper that seemed to be in the 30”+ class, but for some reason it rolled off the hook just as it was coming to the top. No big deal… I was pleased to have it on the line. The next time I set the hook I thought I hooked at the bottom, but suddenly it started to swim away…very swiftly. You guessed it…it was a large cow nose ray. I played it until it came to top water and then the line broke.
Eddie Caught this Nice Striper
